SETUP -> QC Defects or QUALITY -> QC Lots -> Setup menu -> Defects

Fruit defects. These are recorded on QUALITY -> Submission samples, QUALITY -> Reject samples, QUALITY -> QC Lots and QUALITY -> Storage lots.

    • Description
    • Grade group - defect type, eg cosmetic, spoil, etc.
    • Active - untick if no longer used which will hide in lookup lists.
    • Counts for China cut and punctures limit? - tick if this defect should be counted for the China cuts and punctures. This is a pipfruit specific field used to notify if the "Cuts and stem punctures do not exceed 2%" declaration needs to be downgraded.
    • Pest? - tick if the defect is due to a pest.
    • Requires cutting? - tick if the fruit has to be cut to identify this defect. Used to filter the defect list on the QUALITY -> Maturity samples screen
    • MD code tags - select the related master data code(s). Used for pipfruit as links to pest declarations.
    • Defect image - upload an image that will be shown when recording QC defects.
    Note

MD code tags are important for pipfruit as they are used in QUALITY -> QC Lots to suggest pest declaration downgrades. snapPacking comes with a "starting" list of defects but it is important that your QC takes ownership of this data to ensure declaration downgrades are being performed correctly.
