Jobs
STORAGE -> Jobs
Storage jobs provide a way to record (and charge) for work done on bins or pallets.
An important feature of jobs is the ability to record the bins/pallets scanned into the job and (optionally) the bins/pallets scanned out of the job. This can be useful for capturing repacking jobs and raising volume based charges.

Storage type
This is applicable for jobs such as CA storage or Smartfresh application. Optionally items scanned in to this job can have their storage type changed. Add mappings from and to storage types as required.

This is applicable for Pre-shipment label jobs. Once you have recorded the items scanned into a job you can configure and print labels for those items by selecting:
Print for each
- pallet or carton.Label format
- select the label format. And press thePrint
button.
Items in/out tabs
From the In and Out tabs you can view or add the bins or pallets that have been scanned in to or out of this job. You can scan/paste items into this screen or use a handheld scanner Scanner -> Add items on job
. If the job is a CA or Smartfresh type job, you can press Add submission
to add all bins from a submission.
Recording the items coming out of a job is optional (and relatively rare) and would only be useful for jobs such as repacking or repalletising.
Special jobs
Smartfresh and CA
These jobs typically define a storage type map (described above) which allows snapPacking to change the storage type on any bins/pallets scanned into the job.
CA jobs typically also set the location for the items when they added to the job.
Market declarations
Although not technically a type of job, it can be useful to update market declarations for all items scanned into a job. This can be done from the Edit declarations
option from the Declarations
drop-down menu. This may be used in harmony with printing the pre-shipment labels above to declare they have been applied. For more detail, see Market declarations overview
.
Reports
Reports for the job are available from the Reports
drop-down menu.
Other extracts are available from the REPORTS/EXTRACTS
menu.
