    Orchard blocks

    SETUP -> Orchard blocks

These orchard management areas are often imported from master data using the Import RPIN button at the top of this page.

    Important

Adding new apple/pear orchard blocks - use the Import RPIN button to add new orchard blocks as this populates most of the data and some of these fields need to match PCR clearances.

    • Orchard - this is the associated SETUP -> Locations that has been ticked as an orchard.
    • Management area - also known as block code should match the industry published list. This will be important for matching PCR clearances once they become available.
    • Area description - not significant beyond being descriptive.
    • Prod. site - the formal MPI recognised "Production site" for exported fruit. It is highly recommended you do not change this from imported master data.
    • Growing method - growing method of the block.
    • Active? - untick if no longer used which will hide in lookup lists.
    • IQP - tick if this management area has suitability for IQP sampling for USA.
    • High risk for codling moth? - if ticked a Codling Moth Clear reference will need to be entered before fruit can be packed for Codling moth sensitive markets (see varieties below).

    Varieties

Variety records are added when you Import RPIN. You can edit these to add more detail:

    • Variety
    • Problem / Risk - optionally select a code that will become the default for any bin submissions.
    • Packing group - optionally select a group that will become the default for any bin submissions.
    • Codling moth clear - enter a clearance reference here to allow this variety to be packed for Codling Moth sensitive markets despite being high risk.
    • Maturity go - this is not enforced anywhere. Also can be recorded in QUALITY -> Maturity samples.
    • Maturity stop - also can be recorded in QUALITY -> Maturity samples.
    • Suppress IQP? - tick if you don't want to do IQP samples for this orchard block's variety.

    Market declarations

Market declarations can be viewed and edited here. These will flow through to relevant bin submissions. For more detail, see Market declarations overview.
