    Pack types

    SETUP -> Pack types

Types of packaging that produce is packed into. This list also includes the bin types you can select when submitting orchard bins.

Pack types can be imported from master data using the Add from MD button at the top of this page.

    Details include:

    • Code
    • Description
    • Short description - used by some reports.
    • Packaging - if this pack type is a bin, then select the related packaging component for tracking bin movements (particularly empty bins to growers). This takes precedence over any Default usage information entered on SETUP -> Packaging
    • Alias(es) - when EDI files have different values to your Code, enter other codes here.
    • Override pallet card - if you have more than one pallet card format, select a format to use for this pack type if different from your default pallet card format.
    • Active? - untick if no longer used which will hide in lookup lists.
    • Allow part full? - if this pack type can be partially full. Usually ticked for bins but may apply to other pack types too.
    • Bin? - tick if this pack type is a bin.
    • Bulk Kgs? (no units) - tick if this isn't actually a pack type and you just want to record kgs.
    • Exclude from USA samples? - if ticked, will exclude these pack types from being selected when random carton sampling for USA.

    Weights

Record the net and gross weight for this type of pack:

    • Net Kgs - weight of produce only.
    • Gross Kgs - total weight (of produce and packaging).
    • Applies to - enter when the weights are different for produce types, fruit sizes or variety.
