    Packaging

    SETUP -> Packaging

    Packaging component details include:

    • Description
    • Group - type of packaging, eg Packaging, Bin, Crate, Pallet, etc
    • Base unit - description of the base unit of measure represented by a quantity of "1" (eg. each, metre, litre).
    • Base unit cost - cost of a single base unit. Used in the Stocktake valuation extract. This field requires a separate permission to view/edit ("Setup - Packaging - edit costs").
    • Stocktake group - used to group items of similar types/locations to aid stocktaking.
    • Owner - owner of the packaging (if multiple owners are required). Used in the Stocktake valuation extract. If this is a hired item, enter the person who is hiring the item.
    • GL account - select the GL account. Used in the Stocktake valuation extract.
    • Active? - untick if no longer used which will hide in lookup lists.

    Hired?

    • Hired from - if hired, vendor this item is hired from.
    • Hire item code - if hired, the hirer's product code.

    Other bulk units

    Each packaging item may list other units of measure used to transact this item. Example: pallets of 6,250 fibre trays.

    • Code - select a different unit of measure from the Base unit entered above. This is how you would purchase or transfer stocks of this packaging.
    • Mulitiplier - enter the multiplier of the Base unit to the Code UOM.

    Default usage

    This table describes when this packaging item should be consumed during packing. These rules support the Load defaults feature when adding packing plan products.

    • Per unit - consume this packaging per fruit, carton, or pallet?
    • # used - quantity used per unit above.
    • Applies to - enter filters here to describe when the packaging should be consumed, eg when a particular brand and pack type code are combined.

    Load an image of the packaging. This is shown on the PACKING -> Packing lines, PACKING -> Plan and PACKING -> Runs screens to assist staff to use the correct packaging.
