Penetrometers

SETUP -> Penetrometers or QUALITY -> Maturity samples -> Setup menu -> Penetrometers

To integrate penetrometers with snapPacking's maturity samples, you require a special program to be installed on your computer. Penetrometer details will automatically be set at the recommended defaults but can be maintained here.

• Description - name.
• Type - type/version of penetrometer.
• Com. port - computer comm port the scanner is plugged into.
• Notes
• Sample depth - this is the depth the penetrometer goes into the apple in tenth of millimetre. Minimum value is 10 (1.0mm) and maximum is 250 (25.0mm).
• Sample speed - speed of the penetrometer in mm/sec. Minimum value is 8mm/sec and maximum is 25mm/sec.
• Sample trigger grams - trigger threshold in grams. Minimum is 30g and maximum is 250g.

• Sample min. Kgs

The information on the right hand side of the screen will help identify any issues, ie if the service is not running and/or penetrometer isn't communicating with the computer.
